Offshore wind in Australia – A state-by-state review image

At the Australian Offshore Wind Conference in Melbourne, our co-founder Maya Malik presented ‘Offshore wind in Australia – A state-by-state review’, summarising KIMAenergy's analysis of technical properties, cost of energy and routes-to-market for all 6 offshore wind areas.

Maya shared that the region of Gippsland in Victoria is the biggest ‘no brainer’ for investors, ticking the boxes for technical properties, cost-of-energy and route-to-market. Other regions present quite big trade-offs between technical risk and offtake risk. Those bullish on hydrogen, green manufacturing and big grid will like Tasmania and WA. Those keen on floating will choose NSW.
